Severed from the world, it throws me back
to the clearing where they
used to take a tally of their wares
(occupies the mind, a satellite
or more like a meteor
shower rushing through the nothing there),

Where I used to play, where once I fell
seeing stars, I half
arrived. It took a month and something more.
Drawn towards the vacuum and the dark,
we are volunteers for
walking when they open up the door.

Fear
of the silence, of the cause
of the depth of saturn's rings
of the numbers on the board
how they answer everything
You let somebody know
the descent onto the floor
a reach to the unknown

and we're back on our old ground
